Some factors I use in deciding the best route to follow when developing a site, is determining what type of content you are needing to use on your website. I have developed complex sites using Typo3 and the Web Empowered Church platform for some local churches in Ashland, Ohio to small business blogs using WordPress. As some web designs may not fit the mold of an existing web application, I have written my own code to develop such sites.
